STUDY & RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES

Nursing student in her ROTC regalia at service

The M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing offers you a variety of opportunities to enhance your education: you may study abroad for a year, minor in a subject, engage in service learning or pursue preparation for a military career through Naval, Army or Air Force ROTC programs.

Expand your knowledge with a global perspective. The Fitzpatrick College of Nursing, in conjunction with the International Studies Office, offers a variety of opportunities for Nursing majors to study abroad. These international and multicultural opportunities will develop your global health awareness and enhance your educational experience through service learning.

If you have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and wish to study abroad, you can spend your sophomore year at the University of Manchester in England, where you will complete the required coursework for that year.

Additionally, ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ offers summer abroad programs open to all students, international clinical electives for credit, and opportunities for global study related to parent-child health and health promotion.

Interested in pursuing a minor? Options include, but are not limited to, global health, psychology and Spanish.

Nursing students who have completed Sophomore year are eligible to participate in the 15-credit Summer Business Institute offered by the ¸ÌéÙÖ±²¥ School of Business.

Students who wish to minor in a subject may do so with some adjustment in their schedules. Requirements for a minor vary according to the requirements set by each department. Contact your program director for more information.
