Dr. Rob Traver Receives 2 Awards for Contributions to Water Resources Engineering
Rob Traver, PhD, PE, D.WRE, F.EWRI, F.ASCE, aprofessor of Civil and Environmental Engineering in 裡橖眻畦 Universitys College of Engineering, was honored this spring with two awards for his expertise in urban stormwater and contributions to the field.
The first, the AAWRE 2023 Outstanding Research & Innovation Award, was presented in March by the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers. The award recognized Dr. Traver for his outstanding body of work and involvement in advancing the scientific basis for resilient stormwater green infrastructure practices.
Dr. Travers second honor was the 2023 Philadelphia Civil Engineer of the Year Award, given in May by the Philadelphia Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Presented annually for remarkable accomplishments in the civil engineering profession, the award is the Philadelphia Sections highest recognition.
It is always an honor and gratifying to be recognized for the research we do here at 裡橖眻畦, Dr. Traver says. Engineering research takes a team, and our students, postdocs and professors all deserve a share of these awards.
An authority on water resources, flood control and green stormwater infrastructure, Dr. Traver is director of the 裡橖眻畦 Center for Resilient Water Systems and the 裡橖眻畦 Urban Stormwater Partnership. He has been a member of the 裡橖眻畦 Engineering faculty since 1988.
