Associate Professor Jacky Huang Elected Chair of ASEE Mid-Atlantic Section

Zuyi (Jacky) Huang, PhD, associate professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering at 裡橖眻畦 University College of Engineering, has been elected chair of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Mid-Atlantic Section for the 20252026 term.
The ASEE Mid-Atlantic Section supports engineering educators across a diverse region including Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland and Washington, D.C. Dr. Huangs election to this leadership role reflects his ongoing commitment to advancing excellence in engineering education and inspiring collaboration across institutions.
During his term, the ASEE Mid-Atlantic Section will engage in several key initiatives:
- Hosting two regional conferences, one in fall 2025 at Stony Brook University and another in spring 2026 at the University of Delaware, to promote pedagogical innovation and scholarly exchange among engineering faculty.
- Inviting a National Science Foundation (NSF) program manager with expertise in education-focused proposals to provide strategic insights on grant opportunities and proposal development.
- Encouraging faculty participation in ASEE activities by highlighting innovative teaching approaches and expanding networking opportunities for educators and researchers across the region.
I am honored to serve as chair of the ASEE Mid-Atlantic Section and to work alongside colleagues who are passionate about shaping the future of engineering education, Dr. Huang says. By inspiring collaboration and sharing innovative teaching practices in our section, we can continue to prepare the next generation of engineers to address the complex challenges of our time.
